Singer/actress Uhm Jung Hwa is rumored to be gearing up for a small screen comeback for the first time in three years.
According to broadcast officials, Uhm Jung Hwa has been in discussion for a role in MBC‘s new weekend drama, ‘Give Me Gold‘.
‘Give Me Gold’ is the newest work of writer Ha Chung Ok and is described to be a family centered drama that features the characters discovery the meaning of family. Should Uhm Jung Hwa be confirmed for the drama, she’ll be playing the lead character ‘Mong Hee’, a divorcee with a daughter who dreams of becoming a jewelry designer.
A representative of her agency revealed, “It hasn’t been that long since she’s received the offer. We’ll have to wait and see when we discuss the finer details.”
Uhm Jung Hwa has prior experience working with Ha Chung Ok for a 1997 SBS drama. In addition to ‘Give Me Gold’, she’s also looking forward to a big screen comeback with ‘Montage‘. Representatives stated, “We’re positively considering her a role in the film and are balancing the details. The movie will begin filming in August or September, and should everything align, she might be able to pull off both a movie and a drama.”
