FT Island ‘s Hongki is preparing to make his big-screen debut.
Hongki’s agency FNC Music reported on July 30th, “Lee Hongki has been cast in the film, ‘Our Heaven‘, and will be playing the role of an idol star.”
The role Hongki will be playing is of a character going through some severe growing pains, despite receiving much love and support as a top celebrity. He decides to volunteer at a hospice hospital after causing some trouble, and there he is able to slowly but surely overcome his situation.
Reportedly, the singer was captivated by the touching story. Hongki remarked, “I wanted to carefully select the project, as I will be making my big-screen debut. I was deeply touched after reading the script to ‘Our Heaven’, and immediately decided to feature in the film.”
Meanwhile, ‘Our Heaven’ is a human-drama that tells the story of troublesome idols who realize the value of their life and music after volunteering to work with patients at hospice hospitals. The film is scheduled to simultaneously be released in both Korea and Japan sometime next year.
