On the last episode of MBC TV‘s ‘Radio Star‘, Psy revealed that he once sang in front of an intoxicated audience.
The singer stated, “I had another event so I wasn’t going to be able to make it. However, the audience said they would wait until I came, so I arrived 2 hours late. The audience had apparently thought, ‘might as well drink while we’re waiting’, so eventually 4,000 of them became drunk. It was a state of anarchy.”
He continued, “I started off the performance but saw girls swaying and falling after losing their balance in their intoxicated state. I thought that in the intoxicated state, the audience may not notice and the girls might be trampled. So I stopped the performance to ask everyone to take a few steps back.”
“I then asked for a bottle of soju myself so that I could try to match the drunken atmosphere of the audience and sang my song ‘Father‘ in order to settle down the mood, thinking they would humble themselves in the meaning of the song. However, I saw some guys fighting instead. I once again stopped the performance, and asked them how they could get into a fist fight during a song about feeling gratitude for their fathers. The other audience members then began to chant saying I was cool. There was no solution to the situation,” he further revealed, causing much laughter in the studio.
Viewers reponded saying, “Psy’s concert for the intoxicated audience is hilarious“, “My cheeks are exploding listening to the story“, “An extreme audience for an extreme singer“, “I’m kind of jealous of the audience that got to be there“, and more.
