T-ara’s Hyomin refused to answer questions regarding the Hwayoung controversy at a press conference for her new MBC sitcom, “1,000th Man.”
On August 14, Hyomin made her first public appearance since the T-ara/Hwayoung controversy first broke out last month, alongside her co-stars for “1,000th Man,” including Kang Ye Won, Lee Chun Hee, and Jun Mi Sun.
Prior to the press conference, MBC had asked the press members to abstain from asking any questions regarding the controversy. But the press regardless proceeded with the question and asked Hyomin to address the issue.
Hyomin, however, declined to say anything about the issue, only saying, “Today’s a happy and pleasant day. Since all the script writers, directors, and staff members worked hard to produce this drama, I would like to ask you to only focus on questions pertaining to the drama.”
She ended up breaking down in tears as she answered the question, and did not answer any further questions during the press conference.
This is not the first time that a T-ara member shed tears during an interview. Yesterday, Soyeon spoke with the press for the first time in an exclusive interview with Chosun Ilbo and broke down while answering questions regarding the Hwayoung controversy.
