Block B opened up about their controversial behavior in Thailand during a recent recording of Mnet “Beatles Code 2.” Since it was their first variety show appearance in 8 months, Block B seemed extra careful with their words and comments.

The show’s host Tak Jae Hoon first asked, “You faced the Thailand interview controversy right when you were starting reach major stardom. How did you feel back then?”

The group’s leader Zico answered, “These are all excuses, but we stayed up all night the day before working on our new album. We couldn’t sleep that much and we were just drained both physically and mentally. We weren’t aware of the issue in Thailand, but the situation was made worse by the time we arrived in Korea. We were so stupid and it was all our mistake.”

Hyun Jin Young, who also appeared as a guest, said, “What you did 8 months ago was clearly a mistake. But I think that controversy made Block B reflect and look back at themselves. I think even if Block B becomes a bigger star, they will always be humble.”

Zico continued, “While taking a rest, we tried to reflect and make changes to ourselves. We did a lot of work on music too. Our new title track was also written and composed by me. Please look forward to a new and changed Block B.”

The full episode of Block B’s interview will air on October 22 at 11PM KST.
