PSY’s “Gangnam Style” is still going strong and has just recently surpassed the 600 million view mark on YouTube. As of October 31, “Gangnam Style” has 604,259,007 total views, closely trailing Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor” which has 614,641,469 views in total for the second most viewed video in YouTube history.
Since its release on July 15, “Gangnam Style” hit the 100 million mark in just 52 days on September 4. It took another two weeks to reach 200 million views, and on September 29, it surpassed the 300 million view milestone.
His rise to fame continued through October, as “Gangnam Style” was seen over 400 million times on October 8. Just 12 days later, it brought in another 100 million views to get to 500 million in total. And on October 31, 109 days since its first release, “Gangnam Style” finally hit 600 million views.
Many fans and experts are anticipating “Gangnam Style” to eventually become the most watched video on YouTube by the end of this year. Currently, Justin Bieber’s “Baby” holds the top spot with 790 million views, but under the current pace, it’s only a matter of time until “Gangnam Style” gets to 800 million, experts say.
The second highest viewed music video is Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor,” followed by “Gangnam Style” and Eminem’s “Love the Way You Are.”
Meanwhile, “Gangnam Style” has remained at the #2 spot of Billboard’s Hot 100 Weekly Singles Chart for the 5th straight week.
So, how long do you think it’ll take for “Gangnam Style” to become the most viewed video on YouTube?
