Korean singer Kim Hyun-joong was awarded the Most Popular Foreign Star Award at the 2012 Miguhui Awards (Mobile Music Awards) which took place in Chendu, China on December 8th.
The former SS501 leader was swarmed by hundreds of fans holding up different signs at the airport in Chengdu on the 7th.
After winning the award, Kim performed "Please" and "Breakdown" in front of the live 30,000-membered audience,
The awards was hosted by China Mobile, the biggest telecommunications company in China, reported to be providing connection services for 584 million users as of 2010. This year marks the 6th run of the awards ceremony, honouring some of the most popular artists in terms of mobile phone music downloads. It's one of the largest music awards ceremonies in China.
The airing of the event will broadcast on January 1st, 2013 on a Chinese channel.
On a side note, Kim will be releasing his first album in Japan on December 12th, "Unlimited".
