Actor Hyun Bin surprised the student community at Hanyang University when he paid an unexpected visit to the school last week. According to reports from local news agencies, the actor, who is currently in active military duty, made an appearance in the university to promote the Marine Corps.
Reports further said that Hyun Bin took to the stage at around 1:00 p.m. on May 24, addressing the students for about 10 minutes. He was neatly dressed in his Marine Corps uniform, the division of the armed forces to which he is assigned.
“Ladies, if you have boyfriends, I recommend they join the Marine Corps and for you to support them,” he was quoted as saying.
Though his time on the stage was short, his dimpled smile and manners earned a warm reception and applause from the crowd.
Hyun Bin volunteered to join the Marine Corps when he entered his mandatory military service in March 2011. He is assigned to the 6th Brigade stationed in Incheon.
