K-pop queen Lee Hyori turned some heads when she said that she lists her occupation as ‘student’ instead of ‘singer’ whenever she travels abroad.
On the May 6th broadcast of SBS‘s ‘You & I‘, Lee Hyori sat down with rock band Jaurim for a fun-filled interview segment.
During the interview, Jaurim bassist Kim Jin Man told a story of a time when he was stuck at a Customs and Border office for several hours when he was traveling abroad. To this, Lee Hyori recounted her experiences when traveling by saying, “Usually, if you write ‘singer’ as an occupation on the Customs card, they assume you are coming to give a concert, and that always leads to trouble so I always write ‘student’ as my occupation.”
She continued, “One time, the customs officer noticed I had stamps from all over the world on my passport so he asked, ‘What kind of student has this kind of money for travel?’ I ended up answering, ‘My dad is rich’.”
Fellow MC Jung Jae Hyung quipped, “I also have trouble when I travel abroad so I usually don’t write ‘singer’ as my occupation either!”
